Play Klax on GBC Online
Catch falling colored tiles before they pile up, then sweat as the speed ramps up and you scramble to match rows—diagonals, straight lines, or whatever the level demands. That GBC screen somehow makes every near-miss feel twice as tense.

I picked up Klax on Game Boy Color back in 1999, a puzzle game published by Atari Corporation. It was one of those titles that felt right at home on the handheld, a straightforward concept without a lot of the flash or gimmicks you saw creeping into other games around that time. It didn't try to be anything more than what it was, and that was part of its appeal.
You control a small paddle at the bottom of the screen, catching colored tiles as they slide down a ramp toward you. Your goal is to prevent the tiles from piling up and overflowing by grabbing them and then dropping them into a grid below to form lines of three or more of the same color, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The main mechanics involve careful timing to catch the right tiles and strategic placement to set up combos and clear the board efficiently. The pace starts deceptively slow but quickly becomes frantic, demanding quick decisions and a steady hand as the speed increases and the tile patterns grow more complex. It feels like a constant, satisfying battle against the inevitable pile-up.
