Game Overview

Laser Gates is one of those Atari 2600 games that looks simple until you actually try it. You're piloting this little spaceship through tight corridors filled with force fields that flicker in and out—time it wrong and you're toast. Rocket launchers pop up out of nowhere, and those "byte bats" (basically pixelated nightmares) swoop in from all sides.

Your ship's got a shield, but it drains fast when you take hits. The energy pods that recharge it are rare, so spotting one feels like finding gold. You've got a laser to blast enemies, but honestly, half the time you're just trying to squeeze past obstacles without scraping the walls. The timer's always ticking down too—nothing like the pressure of a bomb about to go off to make you sweat.

It's punishing but weirdly satisfying when you finally nail a perfect run. Just don't expect to last long on your first try.
