Game Overview

Last Half of Darkness II came out in 1989, a point-and-click horror adventure from SoftLab Laboratories for MS-DOS. It was part of that wave of early PC games where atmosphere mattered more than flashy graphics, and you had to use your imagination to fill in the gaps. The game built on its predecessor's moody, low-res aesthetic, offering a slow, deliberate experience that felt right at home on machines of the era.

You control a lone investigator exploring a haunted mansion, moving screen by screen through dimly lit rooms and corridors. Your main goal is to uncover the source of the supernatural events by solving inventory-based puzzles and deciphering cryptic clues. The game relies heavily on note-taking; you must pay close attention to environmental details and document everything to progress. Pacing is deliberately slow, and the difficulty can be punishing if you miss subtle hints. Playing it feels like piecing together a ghost story one anxious click at a time.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
