Play Legend of Luigi Online

Luigi’s got that floaty jump where you can almost feel him hesitate mid-air, vacuuming up Boos in a mansion that creaks like it’s judging you. The music’s a haunted carnival bop.

Game Overview

Legend of Luigi was a Super Nintendo Entertainment System release, though it never saw an official launch. It was developed by Nintendo, intended as a follow-up to the Mario series that would give Luigi his own distinct adventure. It fits right into that era of platformers that started experimenting with more atmospheric settings and puzzle-based progression.

You control Luigi through a series of haunted mansions, clearing each room of ghosts by sucking them up with the Poltergust vacuum. The main goal is to capture a set number of Boos in each mansion to unlock the final boss. Signature mechanics include exploring interconnected rooms screen by screen, solving environmental puzzles by revealing hidden doors, and managing your limited flashlight battery to stun ghosts. The pacing is deliberate, almost cautious, as you check every corner for clues and avoid being grabbed from off-screen. It feels like being a nervous ghostbuster in a house that’s actively working against you.
