Game Overview

Lennus II - Fuuin no Shito is one of those SNES RPGs that somehow slipped under the radar outside Japan, which is a shame because it's got this weird, moody atmosphere that sticks with you. The first thing you'll notice is how different it looks—everything's darker, almost eerie, with these washed-out colors and strange creature designs that make the world feel genuinely unsettling.

Combat's where things get interesting. Instead of MP, your magic drains stamina, so you're constantly weighing whether to go all-out or play it safe. I remember getting wrecked a few times early on because I got greedy with spells. The dungeons are full of little puzzles too—nothing too crazy, but enough to keep you poking around corners for hidden switches or clues.

It's definitely not a happy-go-lucky JRPG. The story leans into some pretty heavy themes, and the soundtrack has these haunting melodies that fit perfectly. If you liked the first Lennus (or even stuff like Soul Blazer), this one takes everything further—more lore, weirder enemies, and a real sense that the world's barely holding itself together. Just be ready for a challenge—some bosses don't pull punches.

Honestly, it's one of those games that makes you wonder how it got made in the mid-90s. Feels ahead of its time in all the right ways.
