Lethal Weapon on MS-DOS is one of those early '90s movie tie-ins that somehow works despite its limitations. You play as Riggs or Murtaugh (or both in co-op) blasting through side-scrolling levels that loosely follow the films. The controls are clunky by today's standards, but there's something charming about the pixelated versions of Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
Yeah, the sound effects are tinny compared to the Amiga version—gunshots sound like someone tapping a soda can—but the sprite animations are surprisingly decent for the time. You'll recognize scenes like the Christmas tree lot shootout, though don't expect much depth beyond run-and-gun action. It's pure nostalgia fuel if you grew up with DOS games.
Just don't go in expecting a masterpiece—this is a quick, messy arcade-style romp best played with low expectations and maybe a friend for co-op.
