Game Overview

I first came across Major League in a dimly lit arcade back in 1990. It was a Namco release, one of those straightforward baseball games that felt right at home among the other cabinets of the era. There were no complicated rosters or season modes; it was just pure, fast baseball designed to grab your attention and your quarters.

You control the entire team, switching between batting and fielding automatically. At the plate, you time your swing to connect with pitches, aiming for gaps in the outfield or, if you're lucky, a home run. In the field, you move players to catch fly balls or field grounders, then throw to the appropriate base to get runners out. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty ramps up noticeably after a few innings, especially when the computer starts hitting everything you throw. It feels tense and immediate, like every pitch could change the game.
