Play Mario's Picross Online
Chisel away blocks on a grid using number clues—what starts as simple shapes turns into satisfying pixel-art reveals, with Mario as your archaeology buddy.

Mario's Picross came out for the Game Boy in 1995, developed and published by Nintendo. It was part of that era where handheld games often focused on puzzles you could pick up and play in short bursts, a nice alternative to the more action-heavy titles on the system.
You control a cursor to chip away at a grid of stone blocks, guided by number clues along the top and left edges that tell you how many consecutive blocks to clear in each row or column. The main objective is to reveal a hidden picture, like a dinosaur or a teacup, by carefully deducing which squares to break and which to leave intact. You work screen by screen, with each puzzle solved opening up the next one in a linear progression. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as the grids get larger and the images more complex. It feels like quietly untangling a knot in your mind, one satisfying click at a time.
