Game Overview

Marvin's Maze came out in 1983 as an arcade game from SNK. It was part of that early wave of maze games, but it had its own twist on the formula. You didn't just run from ghosts or eat dots; you had to be a lot more strategic, and a lot more careful, with every move you made.

You control Marvin, a small robot, through a series of single-screen mazes. Your goal is to crush all the bouncing enemy orbs by pushing movable blocks onto them. The main challenge is that these enemies multiply over time, and if you take too long, the screen fills up with bouncing threats. You have to plan your shoves carefully, because a misplaced block can trap you or create dead ends. The pacing is tense, almost claustrophobic,, as you race against their reproduction. It feels like a desperate, thoughtful puzzle where one wrong move means disaster.
