You control Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, navigating both the real world and the cyber network. Your main goal is to compete in a global NetBattle tournament, which involves traveling to different countries and solving network crises. The gameplay splits between exploring towns screen by screen and diving into network dungeons filled with viruses. Combat happens in real-time on a grid; you select Battle Chips from a custom folder to attack, dodge, or use special abilities. The pacing is brisk, with frequent random encounters keeping you on your toes, though some sections can feel repetitive. It feels satisfying to build a powerful chip library and outmaneuver opponents in fast-paced battles.
