Game Overview

Miramar, Jet Fighter Simulator was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled various titles from the platform's early era. The game was developed by Parsoft and published by Merit Software, placing it among the many flight simulators that sought to capitalize on the growing interest in realistic PC gaming during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

You pilot a fighter jet, managing throttle, weapons, and navigation across a series of missions. The primary objective is to complete sorties, which involve air-to-air combat, ground strikes, and landing safely. Key mechanics include a detailed instrument panel for navigation and combat, a targeting system for locking on to enemy aircraft, and a challenging fuel management system that requires careful planning. The pacing is deliberate, with moments of intense action punctuated by long stretches of flight; the difficulty is unforgiving, demanding precision in both combat and landing procedures. It feels like a genuine test of skill, where every decision carries weight and a single mistake can end the mission abruptly.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
