Mortal Kombat 3 on the Game Boy came out in 1995, developed by Midway. The run button lets you dash quickly, which changes up the pacing, and you still get to perform special moves and fatalities, though the inputs can be tricky on the small buttons. It's a tough game, with some opponents feeling brutally cheap, but landing a fatality after a close match feels like a real victory. It captures that aggressive, fast-paced feel of the arcade in your hands, even with the limitations.
