Play Mummy Online

Creep through pixel-perfect tombs, pushing blocks and dodging mummies—that sudden sarcophagus scare still gets me every time. The chiptune wails and clever traps make this feel like a lost GBC gem.

Game Overview

I picked up Mummy on the Game Boy Color back when it came out. It was developed by Planet Interactive and published by Mud Duck Productions, a title that fit right in with the platform's library of puzzle adventures. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a solid, focused experience you could play in short bursts, which was perfect for the handheld.

You control an explorer navigating a maze of ancient Egyptian tombs, screen by screen. The main goal is to find keys to unlock doors while avoiding mummies that shamble toward you; if they touch you, it's back to the start of the stage. You push blocks to create barriers or clear paths, and some blocks even crush enemies if you time it right. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, because one wrong move means instant failure and restarting the room. It feels tense and rewarding when you finally solve a tricky screen after a few attempts.
