Game Overview

I picked up Murderers in Space back in the day, a 1990 MS-DOS release from Infogrames Europe SA. It was one of those early adventure games that relied on text and simple graphics, fitting right into the era when you had to use your imagination as much as the screen. The setup was straightforward but effective: you're a detective stranded on a spaceship with a murderer on the loose, and you have to figure out who did it before becoming the next victim.

You control the detective, moving from room to room to gather clues and question the crew. The main objective is to identify the killer by piecing together evidence, like misplaced tools or suspicious behavior, while also watching your own back. Key mechanics include interrogating characters, who each have their own alibis and tells, and examining the environment for physical clues. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, because you have to think through every interaction; one wrong move can end the game abruptly. It feels like a tense, cerebral race against an unseen clock, where every conversation could be your last.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
