Naruto: Ninja Council 3 came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by Tomy Corporation. It was one of many action games on the system that tried to use the touch screen and microphone in interesting ways, fitting right into that experimental period for handhelds.
You control Naruto and his friends through side-scrolling levels, fighting enemies with basic combos and special ninja techniques called jutsu. The main goal is to progress through the story by completing missions, which often involve defeating bosses or reaching the end of a stage. Signature mechanics include using the stylus to perform specific swipe motions for powerful attacks and blowing into the microphone to charge up certain moves. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can spike during boss fights, but it stays manageable for most players. It feels like a straightforward, energetic brawler that makes decent use of the DS hardware.
