Naruto: Ninja Council for the Nintendo DS came out in 2006, published by Tomy Corporation. It was part of that wave of early DS games trying to figure out how to use the touchscreen, landing right in the middle of the platform's library where licensed anime titles were pretty common.

You control Naruto through a series of side-scrolling levels, running, jumping, and using basic combos with your kunai to fight off other ninja. The main goal is to clear each stage, which often involves finding a key to unlock the exit. A couple of the signature mechanics involve using the touchscreen to perform special jutsu, like drawing a circle to charge a Rasengan, and there's a two-player versus mode that uses the DS's local wireless. The pacing is quick, with short levels that don't overstay their welcome, though some of the touch commands can feel a bit unresponsive. It feels like a straightforward, portable brawler that captures the energy of the show without adding much complexity.
