Play Naruto - Shinobi Retsuden (J) Online

Dodge kunai, spam Shadow Clones, and kick dudes into the sky with Rock Lee—this DS brawler nails that early Naruto chaos. The Japanese text doesn’t matter when you’re too busy landing Rasengans.

Game Overview

Naruto - Shinobi Retsuden throws you right into the Hidden Leaf Village with that classic DS chibi art style—it’s got that rough-around-the-edges charm from early Naruto games. You’ll start off brawling through basic missions, spamming kunai throws and figuring out which jutsu actually land (looking at you, Shadow Clone Jutsu).

The combat’s simple but satisfying once you get the timing down for counters, and there’s something weirdly addictive about unlocking characters like Rock Lee and just kicking everyone into the stratosphere. The story mode’s in Japanese, but if you’ve watched the show, you’ll recognize the beats—mostly just an excuse to punch people as Naruto, honestly.

It’s not the deepest fighter, but nailing a combo into a special move still feels great. Just don’t expect HD graphics or anything fancy—this is pure mid-2000s handheld nostalgia.
