Play Navy Strike Online

Hop in an F/A-18E and dodge missiles or plot your squadron’s moves on a tactical map—just don’t accidentally nuke the wrong country while tweaking waypoints. The carrier ops feel half-baked, but scrambling scouts ahead of your strike package still hits that old-school DOS sim itch.

Game Overview

Navy Strike came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Empire Interactive Entertainment. It was a time when flight sims and tactical games were finding their footing on PC, and this one tried to blend both into a single package. The game doesn't try to overwhelm you with realism, but it does ask you to pay attention to the details.

You control an F/A-18E pilot and manage a small squadron, plotting waypoints and assigning targets on a tactical map before diving into the action. The main goal is to complete strike missions without causing unintended collateral damage. Signature mechanics include dodging enemy missiles in real-time combat and carefully coordinating your squadron's movements to avoid friendly fire. The pacing is deliberate, with a fair amount of trial and error involved in mission planning. It feels like a tense, sometimes clumsy, but satisfying puzzle where every decision matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
