Play Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Online
Hold your DS sideways and slash through enemies with quick stylus swipes—messing up ninja spells never gets old, and those boss fights will test your reflexes.

Game Overview
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword on the DS is one of those games that makes you hold the system sideways like a book—which feels weird at first, but totally works. You slash enemies by dragging the stylus across the screen, and pulling off combos feels surprisingly smooth once you get the hang of it. Drawing symbols to cast Ninpo spells is a nice touch, though I definitely botched a few fireballs early on.
The story picks up after Ninja Gaiden Black, with Ryu chasing down the Black Spider Clan (again) to rescue Momiji. It’s classic ninja drama—evil artifacts, ancient curses, the usual—but the real fun is in the combat. Blocking with the shoulder buttons while dodging attacks keeps things tense, and some of the boss fights are brutal in the best way. Just don’t be surprised if you accidentally stab the air a few times before your reflexes adjust.
It’s not the deepest Ninja Gaiden game, but for a DS title, it nails that fast-paced, stylish action the series is known for. The whole thing’s over a little too soon, but it’s a solid ride while it lasts.
