Ninja Rabbits came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, published by MicroValue. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home on the system, with colorful, blocky graphics and a simple premise that didn't try to overcomplicate things. You played as a rabbit, but not just any rabbit; this one was a ninja, and the game threw you straight into a world of enemy animals and environmental hazards.

You control the ninja rabbit, moving screen by screen through levels filled with enemies like dragons and other creatures. Your main weapon is a stick, which you use to whack foes, and your goal is simply to survive and progress. The health system uses a carrot that visibly shrinks with each hit you take, adding a layer of tension as you watch your life deplete. If you lose all your lives, a giant weight drops and crushes you, which feels as abrupt as it sounds. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, keeping you on your toes. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
