Nippon Safes, Inc. came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Dynabyte. It was a product of its time, fitting right in with the era's top-down action and puzzle games that relied on keyboard controls and simple graphics. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a certain charm that stood out among other releases that year.
You control one of three characters: a safecracker, a boxer, or a dancer, each with unique skills for infiltrating various locations. Your goal is to break into safes and secure valuables while avoiding guards and security systems. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration, lockpicking or combat depending on your chosen character, and careful inventory management for tools and disguises. The pacing is deliberate, with a high difficulty that punishes mistakes but rewards patience and observation. It feels tense and methodical, like a careful heist where every move matters.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
