Game Overview

Oh man, Once Upon a Time - Baba Yaga takes me right back to those foggy MS-DOS afternoons. You start off in this weirdly cozy Slavic fairy tale where everything looks like it was painted by someone who drank too much kvass—in the best way possible. That chicken-legged hut? Yeah, it actually moves when you're not looking, which still creeps me out a little.

The puzzles are the good kind of frustrating—not moon-logic impossible, but just tricky enough that you feel like a genius when you finally trick Baba Yaga into dropping her guard. I remember getting stuck for ages on that damn mortar and pestle puzzle until I realized you could bribe her cat. Classic fairy tale move.

It's short enough to finish in one sitting, but there's something about the way the pixel art flickers and those crunchy old sound effects that makes it stick with you. If you ever played King's Quest and wished it had more Slavic folklore and fewer instant-death cliffs, this one's for you. Just watch out for the flying skulls.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
