Play Outer World (Japan) Online

You wake up mid-alien abduction, then it's just you and a laser pistol against a planet full of creatures that want you dead—figure out the rules fast or start over again. That rotoscoped animation still gives the whole thing this eerie, dreamlike tension.

Game Overview

Outer World (or Another World, depending on where you live) is one of those SNES games that sticks with you. You start as this scientist—just a normal guy in a lab—when some experiment goes horribly wrong and suddenly you're stranded on a weird alien planet. No tutorial, no hand-holding, just pure "figure it out or die trying" energy.

The art style is all moody rotoscoped animation, which still looks striking today. And the gameplay? Brutal but fair. You'll die a lot—like, a lot—but each failure teaches you something new about the world. One minute you're running from alien beasts, the next you're solving environmental puzzles with this weird teleportation orb thing. It's tense, cinematic, and way ahead of its time.

If you can handle the trial-and-error gameplay, it's a short but unforgettable ride. Just don't expect any mercy from the game.
