Play Peter Pan & The Pirates - The Revenge of Captain Hook Online
Peter Pan's floaty jumps make platforming tricky, and that crocodile chase? Pure panic fuel—Hook's crew keeps respawning in the worst spots while you scramble for rocks to throw. NES-hard in the best/worst way.

Peter Pan & The Pirates: The Revenge of Captain Hook came out for the NES in 1991, developed by Equilibrium and published by THQ. It was one of many licensed games from that era, trying to capture the magic of the animated series on the 8-bit hardware. You don't hear much about it now, but it had its own look and feel compared to other platformers on the system.
You control Peter Pan, flying and jumping through levels like the Jolly Roger and Mermaid Lagoon to rescue the Lost Boys from Hook. The game is a side-scroller where you fight pirates by throwing rocks; you have to find these rocks hidden in the environment, which adds a layer of searching to the action. The levels are broken into distinct screens you clear of enemies, and the pacing is slow because Peter's jumps are very floaty, making precise platforming a real challenge. It feels like a constant scramble against respawning enemies and the clock, especially during sections where you're being chased.
