Signature mechanics include the ability to import your own Pokémon from the Game Boy games via the Transfer Pak, and the challenging Gym Leader Castle mode, which pits you against increasingly difficult AI opponents. The pacing is deliberate, requiring strategic planning rather than quick reflexes. It feels like finally watching your carefully trained team come to life in a proper arena.
