Game Overview
Pokémon Platinum takes everything great about Diamond and Pearl and cranks it up. The snowy region of Sinnoh feels more alive now—there’s this eerie distortion world you get pulled into, and the Battle Frontier makes a comeback if you’re into that post-game grind.
I remember getting stuck for way too long trying to figure out how to reach the Galactic HQ in Veilstone City. The puzzles are just tricky enough to make you feel clever when you solve them. And Giratina? Absolute nightmare of a fight if you’re not prepared.
It’s still the same Pokémon formula at heart—catch ‘em, train ‘em, accidentally let your weakest Pokémon faint to a wild Bidoof—but the little tweaks (like faster HP bars) make battles less of a slog. The underground digging minigame is weirdly addictive too.
