Pokemon Rubi (S)(TrashMan) is a GBA rom hack that sticks close to the original Ruby experience but with some rough edges. The first thing you notice is the unchanged Hoenn region, familiar routes and towns, but the text feels a little off in places—like someone rushed the translation.
Early on, it plays just like you remember: picking a starter, grinding through early trainers, dealing with Team Aqua’s nonsense. But then you hit weird bugs—sometimes a move just doesn’t work right, or a trainer battle glitches out. It’s playable, but you’ll save often.
If you’re looking for a polished rom hack, this isn’t it. But if you don’t mind some jank and just want to revisit Hoenn with a slightly different flavor, Pokemon Rubi (S)(TrashMan) might hold your attention for a while.
