Game Overview
Pokémon Snap on the N64 is one of those weird, wonderful games that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’re not battling monsters—you’re just riding around in a little cart, taking photos of them doing their thing. Pikachu napping in a meadow, Squirtle splashing in a river, that kind of thing.
At first, it feels almost too simple, but then you realize how much personality each Pokémon has. Some run away if you spook them, others react to apples you toss. The real challenge? Getting that perfect shot—framing, timing, even the Pokémon’s pose affects your score. I wasted so much film on blurry Charizard shots before figuring it out.
It’s oddly relaxing, too. No stress, no rush—just you, a camera, and a bunch of digital creatures living their best lives. The Japanese version’s the same as the US one, but hey, maybe you just like the kanji menus.
