Game Overview

Pop'n Music GB - Animation Melody is one of those weirdly satisfying rhythm games that shouldn't work on a Game Boy Color—but totally does. You're hitting five buttons (Left, Up, Right, A, B) in time with anime bangers from Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball, and a bunch of other classics. Half the shows I didn't even recognize, but the music slaps.

It's a stripped-down port of the PS1 version, but honestly? Way more playable. The original needed 10 buttons (who has that many fingers?), while this keeps it simple. The trade-off is the tiny kanji lyrics at the bottom—good luck reading those mid-song. Still, the core rhythm gameplay is stupidly addictive, especially if you're into anime OSTs.

Never got deep into the Pop'n Music series myself, but this one's a gem. Fires up great on emulators if you want that nostalgia rush.
