You’ve got 11 real-life teams (six men’s, five women’s) to pick from, and the controls are simple but take a sec to get used to: A for bumping, setting, spiking, and B for jumping or blocking. The side-scrolling view makes it feel like you’re actually running around in the sand, even if the pixels are tiny.

There’s a quick single match if you just wanna mess around, but the championship mode is where it gets good—win tournaments to unlock hidden courts and extra modes. The two-player versus is fun if you’ve got a friend with a link cable (and another Game Boy, obviously). It’s not the deepest volleyball sim, but for a GBC game, the animations are surprisingly smooth when you pull off a solid spike.
