I picked up PowerPuff Girls: Battle Him for the Game Boy Color back in 2001. It was developed by Saffire, a studio that worked on a few licensed games around that time. This was right in the middle of the handheld era, when colorful, action-focused titles based on cartoons were pretty common. It fit right in with what you'd expect from a GBC cart, nothing too fancy but solid for what it was.

You choose to play as Blossom, Bubbles, or Buttercup, each with her own special attack, and fight through side-scrolling levels. Your main goal is to stop Mojo Jojo by clearing stages packed with his minions, like robotic monkeys and other odd enemies. The gameplay involves a lot of punching and using your character's unique projectile move to take out foes. You explore screen by screen, occasionally hunting for keys or switches to open up new paths. It moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty feels fair for younger players, though some enemy patterns can get repetitive. Controlling the girls and seeing their attacks connect gives a simple, satisfying sense of power.
