Play Probotector II - Return of the Evil Forces (Europe) Online

Blast through waves of enemies as a robot commando—same tight Contra-style action, but now with weird overhead sections that somehow feel even crazier on a NES controller. That spread gun still rules, and the difficulty will still wreck you.

Game Overview

Probotector II: Return of the Evil Forces came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of late NES releases that really pushed the hardware, offering a more intense and visually polished experience than many earlier titles. This was the European version of the game known elsewhere as Contra, continuing the series' tradition of fast paced run and gun action.

You control a robotic soldier tasked with stopping an alien invasion, moving through side scrolling and occasionally top down stages. Your main objective is to survive relentless enemy assaults, destroying everything in your path while collecting power ups to upgrade your weapon. Key mechanics include the spread gun, which fires in multiple directions, and the ability to duck and jump to avoid incoming fire. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty is notoriously high, demanding precise timing and quick reflexes. It feels like a constant, exhilarating struggle against overwhelming odds.
