Psycho came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Psygnosis. It was one of those titles that felt right at home in the era of pixelated horror adventures, where atmosphere often did more heavy lifting than graphical fidelity. You knew you were in for something unsettling just from the box art and the low, humming soundtrack.

You control a lone explorer navigating a series of maze-like, screen-by-screen environments, armed with nothing but a sword and your wits. The main goal is to survive long enough to uncover the secrets of the place, which involves careful exploration, avoiding traps, and fighting off monsters that appear without warning. Combat is straightforward but tense; you swing your weapon when enemies get close, hoping you timed it right. The pacing is deliberately slow, almost claustrophobic, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving if you rush. Playing it feels like holding your breath in a dark room, never quite sure what’s waiting just off screen.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
