Game Overview

Rainbow Islands is that weird, colorful follow-up to Bubble Bobble where you're not blowing bubbles anymore—now you're shooting rainbows. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but it works. You play as one of those little dragon kids (Bub or Bob, I think?) climbing up islands by creating rainbow bridges under your feet. The rainbows also crush enemies if you time it right, which feels oddly satisfying when you pull it off.

The Game Boy Color version keeps the bright, bouncy vibe of the arcade original, though the screen's a bit cramped. First few levels ease you in, but then suddenly you're juggling rainbows, dodging enemies, and trying not to fall through your own disappearing platforms. Gets chaotic fast. If you liked Bubble Bobble's charm but wanted something with more... rainbow violence, this is it.
