Game Overview

Rainbow Island Revolution is one of those DS games that just oozes charm—bright colors, bouncy music, and this weirdly satisfying rainbow magic system where you shoot colored beams to solve puzzles. At first I thought it was just another cutesy platformer, but the way you have to mix and match rainbow powers to get past obstacles actually gets pretty clever. Some enemies only take damage from specific colors, and later levels force you to chain combos by bouncing beams off mirrors and stuff.

The controls feel great on the DS, using both screens smartly—your character runs along the bottom while the top shows puzzle elements you need to interact with. And yeah, it’s definitely whimsical (you’ll be turning clouds into trampolines at some point), but there’s a sneaky challenge hiding under all that rainbow glitter. If you ever played Bubble Bobble and wished it had more puzzle-platforming depth, this might scratch that itch.
