Rendezvous with Rama came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Telarium. It was a time when point-and-click adventures were common, and this one stood out for its serious sci-fi tone and faithful adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's novel. You don't play a hero with a laser gun; you're more of an investigator, a scientist piecing together clues inside an enormous, mysterious alien spacecraft.

You control a single explorer moving screen by screen through the vast interior of Rama, interacting with objects and solving environmental puzzles to progress. The main goal is to understand the ship's purpose and origin before it leaves the solar system. Key mechanics include using a detailed inventory system to combine items or operate devices, and deciphering alien interfaces through trial and error. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty curve due to the non-linear exploration and abstract logic required. It feels less like conquering a dungeon and more like slowly earning the trust of a silent, incomprehensible machine.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
