Road Runner on MS-DOS came out in 1989 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Atari Games. It was one of those straightforward arcade ports that felt right at home on early PCs, where simple controls and clear goals mattered more than flashy graphics. You knew what you were getting: a direct adaptation of the Looney Tunes chase, no surprises, just pure pursuit.

You control the Road Runner, dashing across desert landscapes while Wile E. Coyote relentlessly follows. Your goal is to survive each stage, avoiding obstacles like cliffs, trains, and falling rocks. The game plays out screen by screen; you grab bird seed for points and temporary speed boosts, while the coyote employs ACME gadgets like rockets and springs to catch you. The pace is fast, and mistakes are punishing, one wrong move sends you tumbling. It feels frantic and silly in the best way, especially when your pursuer’s plans backfire spectacularly.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
