You control a single martial artist, Nobuhiko Takada, navigating a series of one on one fights. The main objective is to win tournaments by defeating a roster of opponents. The combat relies on a unique, timing based system for executing special moves rather than complex button combinations; you also need to carefully manage your spirit gauge, which depletes with each special technique. The pacing is inconsistent, with the AI difficulty swinging from passive to punishing without much warning. It feels like a rough, experimental take on the genre that is more interesting for its oddities than its polish.
