Game Overview

Okay, picture this: tiny Gundams in full knight armor, clanking around like medieval warriors instead of space mechs. That’s SD Gundam Gaiden 3 in a nutshell—a weirdly charming NES RPG where your squad of chibi knights just happen to be Gundams with swords and shields.

At first, it feels like Fire Emblem with a serious case of identity crisis. You’re moving units on a grid, but instead of archers, you’ve got Zakus with crossbows. The sprites are ridiculously cute, especially when Char’s Red Comet armor shows up looking like a villain from a fairy tale. Battles are slow but satisfying once you figure out how to position your little knights—turns out, the flying units are way more useful than they look.

It’s janky in that classic NES way (good luck with the menus), but there’s something hilarious about seeing Gundam tropes repurposed into a fantasy story. If you’re into retro strategy games or just love weird genre mashups, this one’s a trip.
