Sea Search was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the original developer or publisher offhand. It was one of those early PC titles that felt right at home in an era of simple graphics and straightforward, sometimes unforgiving, gameplay. You knew what you were getting into; it didn't pretend to be more than it was.

You control a small ship on a grid-based ocean, moving screen by screen to explore islands and hunt for treasure. Your main goal is to gather enough gold and supplies to upgrade your vessel while fending off pirates and weathering sudden storms. Key mechanics include managing limited food and ammunition, engaging in turn based naval combat, and deciphering vague map clues to locate buried loot. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, as a single wrong move can leave you stranded or sunk. It feels like a constant calculation of risk versus reward, where every safe return to port is a genuine relief.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
