Play Secret of Evermore (Germany) Online

You and your weirdly expressive dog hop between surreal time periods, mixing potions and swinging upgraded clubs while the dog mutates into new forms. That SNES soundtrack still haunts me years later.

Game Overview

Secret of Evermore is one of those weird, underrated SNES gems that feels like it got lost in time. You play as this kid and his goofy dog—seriously, the dog’s animations are hilarious—who get zapped into Evermore, a world that keeps shifting between bizarre eras like prehistoric jungles and gothic castles. The combat’s a bit clunky at first, but once you get the hang of mixing potions and upgrading weapons, it clicks in a satisfying way.

What really sticks with me is the atmosphere. The soundtrack’s moody and strange, and the whole thing has this offbeat charm, like a B-movie you can’t stop watching. Also, your dog mutates depending on the area, which is equal parts awesome and ridiculous. If you’re into action RPGs with personality, this one’s worth digging up.
