Play Senet - The Game of Pharaohs Online
Roll flat sticks instead of dice, slide your pieces across a blocky board—feels like outsmarting a 5,000-year-old puzzle. Gets under your skin when you realize those weird squares are secretly booby-trapped.

Game Overview
Ever played a board game older than the pyramids? Senet—The Game of Pharaohs brings this ancient Egyptian classic to MS-DOS, and it’s way more interesting than it sounds. You roll these weird flat sticks instead of dice (apparently that’s how they did it in 3000 BCE), and the goal is to shuffle your pieces off the board before your opponent. The graphics are pure DOS—blocky and simple—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about moving those little symbols around like some kind of digital archaeologist.
It’s sort of like Backgammon’s cryptic grandparent. The rules take a minute to click, but once they do, you start seeing these little strategic traps and lucky breaks. I kept getting stuck on the same three squares, which either means I’m terrible at it or the game’s cursed. Probably both. If you’ve got a soft spot for history or just want to try something genuinely old-school, this is worth firing up in DOSBox. Tutankhamun had a copy buried with him—no pressure.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
