Play Settlers of Catan Online

Roll dice, trade sheep nobody wants, and watch your perfect strategy crumble when the robber takes your brick—just like the board game, but now with pixelated grudges. Random boards mean sometimes you're rolling in wheat, other times you're begging for ore while the AI laughs at your terrible trades.

Game Overview

I first played the MS-DOS version of Settlers of Catan back in 1998, a digital adaptation by Mayfair Games that brought the board game to the computer screen. It was a solid release for its time, fitting right in with other strategy titles of the DOS era, and it let you play against computer opponents when you couldn’t gather friends around a physical board.

You control a settler trying to build roads, settlements, and cities on the island of Catan. The main goal is to earn ten victory points by expanding your territory and collecting resource cards. Key mechanics include rolling dice to determine which hexes produce resources, then trading those resources with other players or the bank to get what you need. The pacing can be tense, especially when the robber token blocks your best resource hexes and slows your progress. It feels satisfying to finally complete a needed road or city after several turns of careful planning and negotiation.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
