Play Sonic 3D Blast 6 Online

So Sonic 3D Blast 6 is this weird NES romhack that tries to cram the isometric stages of the original into a side-scrolling format. At first, it feels off—like Sonic’s momentum is fighting against the level design, which wasn’t built for this perspective.

The sprites are rough but kinda charming, like someone tried to redraw Sonic’s 3D Blast look in 8-bit. Some stages work better than others—the more open ones just turn into awkward platforming gauntlets where you’re guessing jumps.

It’s not terrible, just janky in a way that makes you wonder why it exists. Still, if you’re into obscure Sonic hacks, Sonic 3D Blast 6 is at least an interesting experiment.
