Game Overview

If you grew up with a Genesis, Sonic Mega Collection is basically nostalgia in a GameCube case. It bundles seven classic Sonic games, from the original side-scroller that started it all to weird spin-offs like Sonic Spinball (yep, Sonic as a pinball) and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine (which is just Puyo Puyo with evil beans).

The main draw is having Sonic 1 through Sonic & Knuckles in one place—complete with Tails’ debut in Sonic 2 and Knuckles’ wall-climbing antics in Sonic 3. Sonic 3D Blast feels a little out of place with its isometric view, but it’s still fun in a "wait, why does Sonic control like this?" kind of way.

There’s also a ton of extras—comic scans, concept art, and even hidden games like Flicky and Ristar. The Japanese version throws in Comix Zone and The Ooze, which is cool if you can track it down. It’s not the most polished collection (some games feel dated), but for Sonic fans, it’s a solid way to relive the Genesis era.
