Play Sonic NaoSI Online

At first it's all familiar loops and speed, then the levels start bending in ways that shouldn't work—like someone sneaked into Sega's office and messed with the cartridge while nobody was looking. That one power-up had me wheezing when Sonic suddenly became... something else.

Game Overview

Okay, so Sonic NaoSI looks like a regular Genesis Sonic game at first—same sprites, same speed, same loop-de-loops. But then you hit the first boss and realize something’s off. The levels have these weird little detours that shouldn’t work but somehow do, like someone remixed Green Hill Zone while half-asleep. The music’s got that classic Yuzo Koshiro vibe, but with a few extra bleeps that make your head tilt.

I won’t spoil the surprises, but there’s this one power-up that made me laugh out loud—let’s just say Sonic’s not the only thing moving fast. If you’ve played every official Sonic game to death, this feels like stumbling on a weird, secret prototype. The kind of thing you’d trade for a stack of comics at a flea market in 1995.

It’s janky in the best way, like the devs took the rulebook and tossed it into a tornado. You’ll either love it or walk away scratching your head. No in-between.
