Sonic Jam's Easy Mode was a special feature included in the 1997 compilation Sonic Jam for the Sega Saturn, not the Genesis, developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It offered a more accessible way to experience the original Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy, which was a significant part of the 16-bit era's platforming catalog.

You control Sonic, or Tails in some games, running and jumping through vibrant, side-scrolling stages filled with loops and enemies. The main goal is to reach the end of each act, defeating Dr. Robotnik's machines. Signature mechanics include building momentum to run up walls and through elaborate loop-de-loops, as well as collecting rings for protection and extra lives. The pacing remains characteristically fast, but the reduced enemy damage and more forgiving level designs lower the overall challenge. It feels like a smoother, less punishing version of the games I grew up with.
