So, Sonic 2: Pink Edition is basically someone took the Genesis classic and dunked it in cotton candy. Same speedy platforming, same loop-de-loops, but now everything’s this surreal pink dreamscape—like if Green Hill Zone got redecorated by a hyperactive six-year-old with a glitter obsession.

Tails is still here (thankfully), and the physics feel just like the original, which means you’ll still faceplant into spikes if you’re not careful. But the pink… oh man, the pink. It shouldn’t work, but somehow, racing through a neon-pink Chemical Plant Zone feels weirdly right. Even the badniks look like they’ve been dipped in bubblegum.

If you’ve played Sonic 2 a million times, this is the version where you catch yourself grinning at how ridiculous it all is. And if you haven’t? Well, now you get to experience one of the best platformers ever—just with extra sugar rush.
