Game Overview

Space Harrier came out in 1985 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a port of Sega's arcade hit. It was a strange and colorful spectacle on home computers at the time, a game that felt like stepping into another world entirely, one filled with checkerboard landscapes and giant, flying monsters.

You control a lone hero with a jetpack and a laser cannon, constantly flying forward into a surreal, third-person landscape. The main goal is simply to survive; you shoot down an endless barrage of enemies, from spinning discs to robotic scorpions, while simultaneously weaving through obstacles like trees and stone pillars. The signature mechanics are the constant forward momentum and the need to dodge as much as you shoot, all while the ground rushes by in a disorienting flow. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, demanding quick reflexes and memorization of enemy patterns. It feels like being on a wild, unpredictable rollercoaster where one wrong move sends you crashing.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
