Dodging neon pillars at breakneck speed while blasting floating heads—this game’s a surreal arcade rush, especially with those old-school 3D glasses. That screen-filling dragon still gets me every time.

Game Overview

Space Harrier 3D on the Sega Master System is one of those games that feels like it shouldn’t exist—but I’m so glad it does. You’re basically flying through a fever dream, blasting floating heads and giant mushrooms while dodging pillars that come out of nowhere. The 3D effect (courtesy of those weird SegaScope glasses) is janky by today’s standards, but back then? Mind-blowing.

The controls are simple—just shoot and dodge—but the sheer speed and trippy landscapes keep you on your toes. That first boss, a dragon thing that takes up half the screen, still makes me panic a little. And yeah, it’s short, but that just means you’ll keep replaying it, chasing that high score like it’s 1987 all over again.

Honestly, half the fun is laughing at how bizarre it all is. If you’ve got a soft spot for Sega’s arcade weirdness, this is a must-play.
